Kaposi’s sarcoma herpesvirus (KSHV), also known as human herpesvirus 8 (HHV-8), is the infectious cause of Kaposi sarcoma and at least two lymphoproliferative disorders: primary effusion lymphoma and multicentric Castleman’s disease. The 22nd International Conference on Kaposi’s Sarcoma Herpesvirus & Related Agents will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the discovery of this virus in the city where it happened, New York.
