International Society for Developmental Psychobiology hires Joan Oefner as Managing Director

The International Society for Developmental Psychobiology has appointed Joan Oefner as Managing Director as of January 2018, transitioning from its former central office in Texas to Joan’s Virtual office in New Jersey and Germany. Within a few days of of obtaining administrative access to the Society’s former Memberclicks account, Joan redesigned the website in WordPress and began the process of setting up a new online association management system through X-CD.coma fully integrated Association & Conference Management online software solution. The choice was made due to the increases in abstracts submitted for the Annual Meeting, necessitating a more robust abstract management system which will also include an interactive online program. This new system will facilitate program development, communication with presenters and give participants a searchable program months before the start of the Annual Meeting.

The ISDP encourages research on on the development of behavior in all organisms including man, with special attention to the effects of biological factors operating at any level of organization. The society holds annual meetings to facilitate communication of research results and theory in the area of Developmental Psychobiology. The ISDP strongly supports and encourages young scientists with travel awards, networking and meeting events designed specifically for the students.
